Script Title – Get To Know Social Media

Logline – The radio programme is about a boy who knows about social media but has yet to actually use it. This story embarks on his first adventure using social media and figures out the pros and cons to it. 

Key Characters – In my story the main characters are the boy (Faz), Grandmother (Milhan) and Jane (Meri). Faz is the most important out of the rest as the story revolves around his journey through social media and the other characters are there to help guide him along the way.

Plot Summary – The entire radio programme that I have come up with is about a boy named Faz who is only just discovering about social media and his adventure through his first time using it. His grandmother and friend Jane help him with his adventure as he guides himself through the wonders of social media. Faz discovers the positives of social media as well as the negatives throughout his journey! 

Scene 1

Before the story begins, the narrator introduces to the audience what the story is about, to entice the people watching if they would like what is about to be shown. The story starts with it fading into the boy going into his grandmother's room and telling her about wanting to join social media. His grandmother insists that he should and that he should be careful as there's a lot to handle all at once and if he needs help, she’s there to assist. It fades out when Faz exits his grandmother's room.

Scene 2

Faz makes his social media account and spends time scrolling through various hilarious videos. He decides to call his friend Jane on the phone to tell her about his amazing experience to which she is very enlightened to hear and offers to help him if he needs any assistance. Many sounds are going to be used to keep the audience engaged and the dialogue between the 2 characters is going to be short and snappy to not lengthen the programme.

Scene 3

In this scene, Faz has now experienced the negative side of social media where he has seen nasty negative comments left by people. He goes to his grandma to tell her about it, to which she recommends solutions such as blocking and reporting the users. Faz listens and does this whilst continuing his social media journey.

Scene 4

Faz is now much more confident in using social media and calls his friend Jane again to tell her about what he has discovered. She explains that not all social media is bad and he just needs to avoid the horrible side of it. They end the call and send each other memes and funny videos.

Scene 5

The final scene is a shot of Faz and his grandmother in the living room and it fades in. Faz is showing his grandmother funny videos on his phone that he found on social media and they both enjoy watching them. The characters voice fades and the narrator comes in and talks to the audience about how social media has two sides, positives and negatives and that people shouldn’t be scared as the negatives are easily outweighed.
