Constraints | Describe the details of constraints | Explain how constraints will directly impact your work |
Voice artists release forms- clearances and performance | When using an artist's voice we will have to get permission from them by them signing a release form. This will be permission to be able to use their voice for my radio drama and post it. This will ensure I won’t get sued. | When using the voices for my radio programme I must ensure I get permission. A signature from them so that I won't get into a lawsuit. |
PPL | PPL (Public performance Licensing) is a legal authorisation from the UK for music copyright. You may be granted a PP L licence to ensure that you're allowed to play the specific song. | When creating our own sounds we hold the rights to them, however when finding sounds that’s not ours we must ensure we find sounds that are PPL certified. |
PRS | PRS (Performing Rights Society) is an abbreviation which permits you to listen to music on the radio and in public. | This means that when posting online our radio programme has to be licenced with PRS. Which needs to be paid for before broadcasting the programme publicly. |
Royalties | Royalties are when an artist creates music and you have to pay them royalties to be able to use it. This means that you won’t be sued. | If using sounds from other artists I must make sure I pay them royalties before using. This may affect the cost of my budget since I have to use my budget for many other things. |
Copyright | Copyrights are used to protect sounds and music from being used without the person's consent. If not getting the person's consent I am at risk of getting sued. | When sitting in a room and recording we may face some background noise which may be bad since we need permission to use that sound. However we can use copyright free music and double check no background noise is played in the background. |
Offence content | Offence content is when content is made to offence a certain audience which may lose listeners in the process. | We must consider not to put any strong language or any topics that may offend a certain audience. Since the target audience is for children and adults we must make sure it’s suitable for them with no bad language. |
Slander | Slander is quite similar to defamation as it involves someone making false and damaging statements about another person verbally. | The way in which this could potentially impact my work is to not use any sort of language within our programmes that could potentially be seen as offensive and not lie in a way that will make another person's image bad. |
Defamation | Defamation is like slander. This is when a false statement is made about a person which could possibly harm them. This may happen to one of our voice actors. | The press may misinformation about our drama which could lead to us losing some listeners. |
Representation | Representation is how the media is representing society and the real world. Codes and conventions are used to show ideas, topics and meaning on what is being presented. | In the drama, I have portrayed a young boy who has just discovered social media and figured out the positives and negatives of it. This will educate the audience and teach them how to cope on social media. |
